Christopher A. Higgins
Mr. Higgins is Co-founder and Managing Director of US Capital Partners, an investment bank dedicated to assisting middle market companies raise capital, provide merger and acquisitions services, and financial consulting. During the past 18 years of managing his own company he has acted as interim CFO for companies that were experiencing financial difficulties.
Mr. Higgins also has completed numerous sales transactions and equity and debt placement. Mr. Higgins is also experienced in financial restructuring, estate planning, and recapitalizations.
From the years of 1982-1992 Mr. Higgins was at Security Pacific National Bank. He began his corporate finance training in 1982 and in 1989 was Senior Vice President of syndicated loans, subordinated debt, leveraged buyouts, and mezzanine funds. He left Security Pacific in 1992 after working on the Bank of America acquisition and started his own firm. Mr. Higgins received his Bachelor of Arts in Business Economics from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
Basil E. Horner
Prior to co-founding US Capital Partners, Mr. Horner was a managing director of the Corporate Finance Division in EVEREN Securities, Inc. Mr. Horner directed the investment banking activities in the firm?s Emerging Growth Group.
At EVEREN his responsibilities included: senior banker for new business development and execution; member of the corporate finance operating committee; and head of the Business Referral Program for the firm?s 2,000 brokers.
From 1986-1996 Mr. Horner was employed at Smith Barney, Inc. as Director in the Corporate Finance Division. At Smith Barney, Inc. he was Co-Head of the Western Region Emerging Growth Group and responsible for the new business development and referral program, structuring and executing private and public financing, and also doing merger acquisition assignments.
Prior to Smith Barney, Inc., Mr. Horner was employed by First Interstate Bank as a Corporate Banking Officer where he was responsible for marketing and structuring senior credit products to clients. He was also employed by Pacific Telesis Group as a summer associate in the Corporate Strategy Group responsible for execution and analysis of acquisition/joint opportunities for the non-regulated business diversification program. Mr. Horner has extensive financing experience in public and private offerings of common and preferred stock and senior, subordinated and convertible debt. Financial advisory experience includes exclusive sale assignments, strategic acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, take-over defense assignments and capital structure studies.
Mr. Horner received his Bachelor of Arts degree with honors in Business Economics from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1982 and a M.B.A. degree with honors in finance and marketing from the University of Chicago 1986.
